What are you fannish about?

♥ Fictional characters?

Why not post about all of them this year? This is a challenge to make fifty posts about fandom things. They can be whatever kind of posts you’d like - movie reviews, recs, a story about meeting a fellow fan, cosplaying … anything!
The challenge runs for a year (well, 10 months), so a pace of one post per week plus a couple would do it.

If you’d like to do a theme, feel free. Some ideas:
♦ 50 fictional characters that I want to meet in real life
♦ 50 fanvid recs
♦ 50 television episodes that were lifechanging
♦ 50 fanfic plots I’ll never write

You don’t need to do a theme if you don’t want to. You can make fifty random fan-adjacent posts.

If you’d like even more structure or if you’d like to share your Fandom 50 with others, you can commit to the challenge by signing up.

How many fandom icon and fanfic communities do we have here? It's very possible that two intelligent people came up with the same great idea--especially two people who enjoy fandom.

its less a question of the admin's intelligence and more a question of overlap between similar communities. for instance, ive posted 1/5 of my fannish 50 in the first community. would the admin here mind if i joined this community using a joint tag, or would they be more interested in my participation if i reset with a separate tag or would they prefer me to abstain all together? yknow, simple questions that can only garner answers if asked in the first place.

Yes it is. I ran Fandom 50 last year with permission from the person who did Fannish 50 in 2023, since she was not doing Fannish 50 anymore. I was late getting started this year because I had 2 eye surgeries. I decided that rather than host it on my own journal, as I did last year, I'd make a community for it. I did not know the other one existed though I do know the person hosting it.

If you want to do this one, I'm fine with doing all different posts from that one OR doing the same ones. That is up to you.

I'm multifannish, but my biggest fandom of the moment is Our Flag Means Death (mostly focusing on the supporting characters).

Mix of newer and older films, lots of genre films, but really everything from dumb action to arthouse, indie or international stuff is up my alley. Maybe I'll throw some recs in there for fics, but a lot of the films I watch are sadly very underserved in that regard.
